I grew up not far from Sherbrooke - Stanstead PQ. Beautiful countryside and landscapes. Not many places to set down, though, unless you're on floats!!

First of all, I can hardly believe there’s a CFI out there who would argue that a Bronze Age POH isn’t trumped a subsequent AD. That’s someone whose thinking and ADM are utterly clouded by some notion that was beat into his head early on. The POH is your bible under normal circumstances, I agree…but if the FAA releases an AD, how does that NOT supersede information written before a problem reared its head several years into operation? I suppose that’s part of why you see POH revisions from time to time…for whatever reason, that hadn’t occurred to me until now. Secondly, I find myself distracted by the supernatural beauty of that 172. Holy moley, man…

Thanks for the fun video. I have followed your cooking channel for years but this is my first time here. I live in Georgia , USA but was born and raised in Oshawa and lived pretty close to the airport. It was such fun seeing my hometown though things have really changed since I lived there. My father in law flew into Oshawa airport in his plane for my wedding in 1980!

How are you getting on with the STOL kit and extended wings? Loved that view down at the last take-off to show all the runway that's going to waste!

Of course you had to fly into Moncton (where I did my CPL/IFR) a month after I move away! This is a flight I did both way many times in a DA20 during my nights of time-building in between these bad days that are very typical of the area.

I knew from looking at FlightAware that things didn't quite go according to plan, but it was still enjoyable to get the details straight from you. One thing that struck me as a bit odd was that you referred to C-FMVU as "it". I grew up around way more boats than airplanes (the latter being … honestly … none) and our vessels were always "she". Although, if a female boat captain referred to her ride as "he" I don't think we would have had any particular problem with that. Was I misled by watching too much Star Trek where almost everything about "flying" was modeled after "sailing"?

Living in Sackville - half hour out of Moncton - I spent the trip you made from Charlottetown to Moncton staring at the ground trying to figure out your flight path. :D Sadly, the weather you had was... near typical lately. Or it's unbearably hot. Hope you enjoyed Moncton, Glen!

The local university has a culinary program. There restaurant is excellent and great training for the students.
